I would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts about it but personally I think this is clearly setting Cal up to be the founder of a brand new order of grey jedi. He is afraid of what comes next because he knows that the dark side is now a part of his destiny. Ceres legacy was that she accepted her darkness, she proved grey jedi are possible. I think Cal is going to become one of the most unique and potentially most pivotal and influential characters in the new Disney canon because of this.

Depression aside, this situation is actually perfect narratively. If any any of the squad members tries to save him, they'll just kill all of them, they have to get rid of the car if they want to start moving, they are short on time because of the air support, and as soon as Tech severs the connection hinge, the other car starts moving so they can't possibly go back in time to save him. Also Tech has a giant railcar falling above him so surviving is very unlikely. It makes me sad that people probably had to sit down to design this "perfect" narrative situation 😢

Honestly, I think Hemlock's death was done well, but he shouldn't have been killed off. Nearing the finale kind of damaged the fact that he is supposed to be a really intelligent, calculating person. There were too many logical mistakes the writers made him make that he definitely would've handled differently.

How does Dagan able to corrupt a Kyber crystal, not be a Sith? Canon, is truly convoluted. Disney can't even agree with their own lore? The Acolyte, now has a "mood ring" version. The Kyber crystal didn't even fight back, supposedly the are sentient now. But like it's master the crystal accepted destruction. Disney era Quasi-Canon is unhinged.

Actually Kreya is a 100% sith. All her teachings are about personal strength and manipulation of others. She is like a mirror reflection of the Force. All backwards and one sided.
